Can I safely delete
 
Ooops!! Posted this to vB5; meant to post it to vB4.

Our forum is saving/storing using the database. We switched from saving/storing in the filesystem (folders) some time ago.

We have the following folders:

customavatars
customgroupicons
customprofilepics
signaturepics

The contents are 'old', going back to 2012/2013. Nothing newer.

As we switched to using the database, can these folders be safely deleted? Is there any 'good' reason to keep them and their contents?

If all those images are stored in the database and the alter date of these folders are really old then there's no reason to keep them. You can always zip all these folders and download them locally to a backup drive in case it does mess up something.

Thank you Dave.

I've created archived backups of these directories and then removed them. I like keeping a 'clean house'.
