Misc/Other - getting spam on vbulletin.org e-mail adress
 

Hi,

to inform you. There has most likely been a breach or leak of community e-mail addresses.

Eventually this was caused through a third party service (newsletter providers like mailchimp are known for this to happen) but that'd be speculation.

I'm using unique e-mail addresses for all services. Spam was specifically received on the unique address used for this domain.

Sadly the date of spam doesn't always tell much about the date of a breach.

The spam received was a fake Western Union money transfer. Title: Money Transfer Control Number [...]
If needed for research I can forward the mail.

Old news sadly, the forum was hacked last year, so yes, all the e-mails were leaked.
