Ok here's one I thought would be useful.

I know the Usenet gateway hack is similar. But instead of mirroring newsgroups on the forum, how about if you could choose a forum or forums from another site, like a sister site, and mirror the threads and everything. That way, your users can stay on each site respectively, yet post in the mirrored forum which will do it on the other board also.

would be a fairly extensive hack, would involve giving you the username and pass for the mysql database and then changing the host for the database to % in the mysql database and then reloading mysql.

You then have the problem of users with the same ID and would probably involve sharing a user database.
