If you want to use PHP 7.x, then you'll need to upgrade to vB 4.2.5 Beta 1. That's what I'm running on my local dev site:

btw, why is there no PHP 6? |
Because PHP 6 development stopped and they skipped it. They went straight to PHP 7 that provides a huge performance boost.
