vBulletin 4 not processing images

Hello

My vBulletin 4 install is not processing images. The library is GD.

I created a test site to verify that it is not a server / php issue. The test site confirmed that it was not

www.unrealkillers.com/test

However, my main site still refuses to process images / thumbnail them correctly.

Anyone know how I can resolve this please?

Can you be more specific? Do you get an error? How are you uploading the images?

betterthanyours 11-01-2016 12:15 PM

There is no error. I am using the upload function be that basic uploader of the multi uploader. As soon as I switch to php 5.6 the images do not process.

However, I setup a test site with a fresh install and it processed the images just fine.

4.2.3 is compatible with PHP5.5, but I'm not sure how much it has been tested with PHP5.6.

Is your live site default like your test site is? All default files and no modifications? Is there anything in your error_logs (if you don't know where they are, ask your host) when you try to upload an image?

Did you try to test by switching from gd to imagemagik.

Do you have the same issue when using the attachment manager?

I have an image issue as well:https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=323362

No, I couldn't possible get my live site down to no mods....however, does the below count as the same?

I deleted error_log disabled all plugins

define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

The page output was blank

Its been tested by hundreds of live sites running it (probably more).

The same for 3.8.9, which is essentially the same core code.
If there were core image problems we would have heard about them long ago.

Lynne 11-02-2016 06:20 PM

Well, it works fine on a totally default site, but doesn't work on a modified site. So, that tells me that something that was modified is causing the issue. So, you really need to figure out what that is. I would suggest adding the exact same modifications to your test site, one-by-one, and then seeing afterwards if your image problem exists. You need to add all Products, file edits, and template edits. As I said though, do them one-by-one and test after each one so you can figure out what is causing the problem.
