[SOLVED] Looking for a MOD or CRON job that will

Lock threads that haven't had any postings with a definable time frame. I've run across two; a CRON and a MOD; here, but both are expired and in the Graveyard, and are very old. We are running vBulletin 4.2.3 Beta 3.

Hello, Paul! :)

I have attached a simple product that should do what you want. Import the product, and then visit the product settings (MarkFL: Auto-Close Old Threads v1.0), and enable the product, set the "Threshold In Days" (the number of days that must elapse since the last reply to a thread before it is considered old, and auto-closed), and select the forums in which the product will be active (child forums are included for ease of selection).

A daily cron job is run to auto-close all threads meeting the selection criteria.

If there are any issues (I tested it), or if you want added features, please let me know.

Thank you very much! I had a necro-post just last evening; a 'reply' by a brand new member (his first post) to a 4+ year old, self-solved thread, with no other posts!! This will be extremely useful. I'll get it installed and configured later today. I will definitely let you know of any issues and/or suggestions for modifications if and as they arrise.

You rock!!

Imported and enabled.

This is a feature that should be included in vBulletin AdminCP by default. Necro-posting is annoying as all get out.

While it is simple in scope, I think you should consider publishing this in the Mods section. I would definitely vote for it as MOD of the Month, and I think many others would as well.

I don't see a new cron job entry in the Scheduled Task Manager for this, or is it part of one of the existing jobs? If the latter, which one?

Thanks again!
