Adding banner instead of logo (DeFraction theme)
 
Hello,

I am using vBulletin 4.2.3 with Defraction theme (forum link: http://oefserver.com/forum/). I wanted to add this banner http://i.imgur.com/B8ZqCLt.png instead of the logo, it should be centered and added to the header. I am not really a html/css expert so I'd appreciate it if you guys guide me how to do that, thank you!

Best thing to do would be to ask PureVB since they made your style.

The CSS used to edit the default style might break that style.

Why do you not want to go to the developer of the theme?

Is it because they charge $29.95 for logo installation?

Hmm looks like their logo is on the left with the login on right... You could see what div class is doing that background bar, then simply try to replace the background url in the css with your new one. and make the current logo a clickable (blank transparent .png image file) image that way you can still click the logo in a sense and go to forumhome.

Probably a few different ways you could go about this but I'd simply figure out what area does that background image, replace it with the banner and replace the logo with the transparent image. I can't recall but PureVB may use a plguin with his styles, some vendors do and some don't but what I'm hinting at is, if yuou can't find it in the css templates or an external css file they've included it could be in a custom stylevar setting.

Yes, that would be the logical manner of resolving the issue, however I want to know why the member is reluctant to go to the developer of the theme. That would be the most logical solution unless the member has a reason for not so doing.

I do not want to pay for the logo installation as I might be able to do it myself.

Anyway,

I played with the additional.css and its somehow better now, I only want to center the banner but I cant do it.

You could try this:

.logo-image {
clear:both;
display:block;
float:none;
text-align:center;
padding-top: 20px;
}

Not responsible if it breaks the style.
