Is this possible???

Hi there,

Sorry for my english, i am from Holland, so bare with me.

I have a question, is it possible to ajusd a style created for vb 3.8.7 to 4.2.3??
I want to use the newspaper style as seen here :

http://www.themesbase.com/vBulletin-...Newspaper.html

However, this style is for VB 3.8.7 and i am running 4.2.2.

Is it possible to do this, and is it hard?????

I hope someone can help me with this.

Kind regards
Mp3president

Porting a style from vB 3 to vB 4 would take a great deal of work. Pretty much every template would have to be rewritten.

Hmmmmm was affraid of that.

Pretty shame, because this is exactly what i need for my forum.

Thanks for the awnser ;)

I would suggest looking through the vB 4.2.x styles available here for free...you may just find something that suits your tastes. You can also post to request a designer produce a custom style for you in our paid requests, but be advised that because creating a custom style is generally a lot of work, this would likely be pretty expensive.

You would not have to [completely] rewite every template, but you would have to convert them all to vb4 syntax, which would/could be a lot of work, esp for larger templates, it really depends on how customised they are. For many styles its actually only a few templates that get changed as a lot of the differences are just images and colours.

Anyways, the newspaper theme he linked to looks pretty easy to convert, so long as he hasn't made any significant changes to the style. Just add the background image, and change some colors. You can grab the necessary color id's with this tool.

It is not hard to convert a simple theme to other vB version

If you can not do that, I would suggest you find a theme designer for your forum, and they can solve your problem quickly.
