Whenever I post a link of a thread or a single post on Facebook, I get to choose between a limited number of images that are on the vB page that I want to share on Facebook. The images I can choose from are 4 or 5. Most of the time I want to show a specific photo from a specific post, but the choice of choosing that image on Facebook is not available.
Any help?

You have to add Open Graph tags. You can do that using template hook in the header_head hook location. Then in the template code, you need to call an API to get the attached image in the post. PM me if you want me to do this for you.
