User registration question

Hello all,

I'm trying to have multiple applications forms. And when the users get accepted they get assigned to a spesific group. ie: AppA assigns users to usergroupA, AppB to usergroupB. I've tried a few of the registration mods I saw on here and was unable to do this.

Does anyone have any experience with something simmilar or can maybe point me inthe right direction?
