Best chat room for a vbulletin 5 forum

Something that may be integrated at least to the point where forum registration is required to be a member of the chat room.

I have shoutbox right on my vb5 but it's buggy and pretty primitive.

dbtech chatbox is better if you dont have it you should install the pro version

Does dbtech chatbox work perfectly with vb 5.2.1 because I am having problems with vbshout
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....&postcount=412
and vb Advanced Post Thanks
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....&postcount=124
on 5.2.1 such that I'm not that convinced of DB Tech's abilities to work with 5.2.1

Or by Dbtech chatbox, are you simply referring to the same shoutbox that I already have?

Best chatroom for a forum in general? None. Shoutboxes kill forum discussion.

There are some exceptions though such as gaming forums.
If I were to disable the chatbox on my forum, I would definitely get less visitors.

Besides that, I agree.

vbshout has had a positive impact on my forum in that people just use it occasionally to send messages to admin not much else. They think it is cool. It certainly has not affected traffic negatively.

I'd like to try a real chat room though.

An alternative option would be CometChat: https://www.cometchat.com/vbulletin-chat
I don't know if it will work with vBulletin 5 though.

im curious of cometchat also....i liked arrowchat a little better at first glance, but their support is horrible...script broke first time i upgraded vb5 and in months i have still not one reply to ticket or topic so learn from my mistakes:rolleyes:

I've never use CometChat personally but one of my vB5 clients use it.

http://www.texasfbt.com/

It has also a mobile app that integrates with vB5.
