hey i have (vBulletin 4.2.2 Patch Level 4)

can i keep my database and upgrade to the newest verison and save all my threads i cannot afford to loose what is already been on there my forum has been open for awhile..

Please explain how and if someone can help assist this transition im willing to pay someone just to do the upgrade for me..

ALSO I WANT a chat on my new forum as well so if u can bid on that or do that as well im looking for someone that can not only do the switch but install a chat on it as well a a theme i found here on the forums.. as the ones that come with it are so dulll.. CHEERS

You can upgrade from vB4.2.2 PL4 to vB4.2.3 without losing anything.

Upgrading to vB5.2.1 is a major change.

You will lose add ons, template modifications, custom themes, and more.

I can help you with this but you need to ask yourself why you want to upgrade to vB5 before you do it on a live site.

Well its just a better script i think in general, the things u can do on it.. I love the site and theme we have now but i mean can we not be able to make it just as good if not better?? - the vb5 seems faster as well..

Perhaps, it depends on how customized your current forum is. Please bear in mind that the plugin hooks system recently returned to vB5 so a little more time will be needed before it's up top par with the customization capabilities of vB4.
