vB5 vs vB4, which one will you choose?

As title mentioned, which vB version will you choose? why?

which is more secure, functions and better for users to use?

Any shares?

well....i feel if they will even take 1-2 versions and just focus on core function issues that severely lack vb5 will be so awesome.....however....i dont think they will do that so grrrr....pity to my 3+yr "beta" site....maybe by next fall at least i hope

I set mine up originally in vb5, downgraded to vb4 and bumped back up to vb5. I've been on version 5 so long now that I feel like I'm missing features on the vb3 and 4 sites. I know, I know.....too funny. There is still a heavy lacking in the vb5 feature set but i would still pick 5 over 4 hands down. That being said, I can pretty much do anything I want on my forum modifications wise as much as my coding skills allow (Which I have vb5 to thank for forcing me to learn) This isn't a pissing match. Flame if you wish. I can take it Max.

I was expecting a good tongue lashing from you.

What for? You've done a outstanding job with v5. You bought a lemon and made lemonade out of it!

at the moment definitely vb4 if because of the many modifications.

The fading promise of features in 5 and the abundance of mods in an aging 4 make it a difficult choice but I am playing with 5 at the moment so that should indicate something..

If you are planning to use a lot of mods , than go for vb4 , if no , use vb5 which is very nicely made . ;)

I've been sick with what I call "the bubonic black plague of 1330 re-risen" and I mean dead dog, worst case of the flu I've had in over ten years and by golly, the comments above brought a smile to my face today when I didn't think one would sneak onto my face for another day or two!

Lemon > Lemonade you guys, cracking me up!

*For now since there is still a low number of mods listed in the vB5 section I would go with vB4 IF you want to do tons of cool stuff - like faust said if planning a lot, otherwise vB5 is a fine standard forum. You could think of it this way, go vB4 for now just in case you want to customize then you can always upgrade to vB5 but you can't easily downgrade from vB5 to 4 - see the gist of it?
