Follow Forum Moderation Rules - exclude threads

Is there a way for me to use "Follow Forum Moderation Rules" on a section, but exclude threads from being moderated? I merely want their new posts moderated.

Just be be clear...you want members of certain usergroups in a certain forum or forums on your site to be able to begin new threads without them being placed into the moderation queue, but if they reply to an existing thread, you want those posts to be moderated?

Except of certain usergroups, this is what i use.

Forums & Moderators -> Forum Manager -> Forum(select which one)

Moderation Options:
Moderate Threads (NO)
Moderate Posts (YES)

Can't believe I missed this function. I don't use moderation option often, so I wasn't aware this existed. Guess I always overlooked the option seeing I use the permission set mostly. Thanks.
