Forum filter dropdown

1 Attachment(s)
Hello everyone,

in the top of the forum, there is a forum filter dropdown. We can use the dropdown to filter using mod & vBulletin version, articles, styles or graphics, but not for programming discussions.

Sometimes, if I use "all forums", it shows several pages, when I only need the results for programming forums.

Could we have that filter? :)

What forums exactly are you referring to by "Programming" ?

vB5 Programming Discussions

vB4 Programming Discussions

vB3 Programming Discussions

Thats what I thought you might say.

I'm afraid I dont think thats possible with the current design as each dropdown option refers to a root forum. Those three do not have a common (exclusive) root.

In any case, if we had three new options (one for each programming forum), it would help people who are looking for programming stuff.

For example, if I want results related to redirection, using current filters, either I look for mods or for the whole vbulletin org. If I had an option to search for vB 5 programming, for example, I could directly search for what I want.

From times to times I fall in this catch. I might need something related to vb5, but I don't want a mod.

You can use the "Advanced Search" option to select any forums you wish to include in your search. :)

Sorry, Im not adding three new options to the dropdown for individual forums.

If you're looking for useful information for a programming issue you're really going to want to limit to to the version you need it for anyway. Almost nothing relevant for VB3 or VB4 will be relevant for VB5. VB3 and VB4 has some overlap but you don't want to code something only to realize you did for the wrong version.
