-   -   [RELEASE] Variation on the Star Hack (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=3206)

I've changed the 'star hack' slightly, to allow for different faces for admins, moderators, guests, super-moderators etc. Ridiculously easy, someone's probably done it before me.

This for the benefit of everyone:

in showthread.php, look for:

Code:

$userpostcount=$userinfo[posts];
and ADD right below that:

Code:

    // --- Status Images
    $RankNum = $userpostcount;
    $rank = "";
    while ($RankNum > 1) {
        if ($usertitle == "Administrator") {
                $rank = "<img src=\"images/admin.gif\" border=0>";
                $RankNum -= $RankNum;
        }
        elseif ($usertitle == "Moderator") {
                $rank = "<img src=\"images/moderator.gif\" border=0>";
                $RankNum -= $RankNum;
        }
        elseif ($RankNum > 1000) {
                $rank = "<img src=\"images/mem06.gif\" border=0>";
                $RankNum -= 1000;
        }
        elseif ($RankNum > 500) {
                $rank = "<img src=\"images/mem05.gif\" border=0>";
                $RankNum -= 500;
        }
        elseif ($RankNum > 250) {
                $rank = "<img src=\"images/mem04.gif\" border=0>";
                $RankNum -= 250;
        }
        elseif ($RankNum > 100) {
                $rank = "<img src=\"images/mem03.gif\" border=0>";
                $RankNum -= 100;
        }
        elseif ($RankNum > 50) {
                $rank = "<img src=\"images/mem02.gif\" border=0>";
                $RankNum -= 50;
        }
        else {
                $rank = "<img src=\"images/mem01.gif\" border=0>";
                $RankNum --;
        }
    $rank = $rank;
        }
    // --- Status images

This allows you to give admins a particular face, moderators, a different one, etc. Personally, I use a different 'face' to indicate what range users are in, but you can easily replace:

Code:

$rank = "<img src=\"images/mem01.gif\" border=0>";
and things like it with n star images concatentated to one another.

Hope someone deems it useful!

If you find my stars hack you will see it can give images based on the same permissions vB uses to determine mods and admins. You just used their usertitle, which could be anything as not many leave it at the defaults and give different mods different titles, or even custom titles (with my custom titles hack ;))
