Search page bug in vB 4.2.2 and 4.2.3
Dear friends,
I had vB 4.2.2 version that include a search bug. Because of that, i decided to upgrade the vB version to 4.2.3. After upgrading to 4.2.3, the search page still doesn't work. I mean if i search a specific thread, it doesn't find although the thread is existed. More precisely, the search page doesn't find anything, and i don't know why. Somebody can help me to fix this problem please? Thanks, friends. |
examples of the error?
It works fine on my client sites.. |
It doesn't show me an error, but it doesn't find anything.
Example Page: http://www.example.com/search.php?searchid=146 Text: Sorry - no results. Different search terms can help. How can i fix it? it make me crazy. |
Go into maintenance and update your search index under update counters.

I think you should run
Admincp -> Maintenance -> General Update Tools -> Rebuild Search Index |

I did what you said and still it doesn't work
|
Link? How many posts on the site? If over 500K, did you rebuild via command line?
Are all your forums set to be indexed (admincp > forum manager > edit forum > Index New Posts in Search Engine > Yes?)? |
Ok, well it is not "a bug". Can you give more background please? Perhaps it is your settings as Lynne suggested. Your search never worked?
