User blocks me (Scam)?

Hi

I've paid someone some pounds for making me an addon in this forum. Now the user blocks my PM/email? What can i do?

Regards

Not much you can do, if they scammed you then it is a expensive learning experience.

Would be good if the user gets banned, so others don't make the same expensive mistake ..

VBulletin does not get involved in disputes between two parties that entered into a agreement. Best thing is buyer beware.

I'm sorry to hear that :(

Scandal
I recommend him. He has many positives review too & very reasonable price
I also like his policy.

He creates the product and hosts it on his test website. You can test out and report any bugs/suggestions/improvements to him.
Once you're satisfied with the product, you pay him.

I probably wouldn't let any other coder tell me otherwise regarding policy for payment.
Unless they're a reputable company like DB Tech.

Thanks but i really had good experience before hiring on this board. He wanted also the paypal payment as a gift to avoid fees .. well i learned my lesson now.

Wanting as a gift should have been a giant red flag. :)

I wouldn't necessarily say that. I don't bother with it but some groups I'm with "non forum ppl" ask for payment with paypals friends and family all the time, or they'll add 3% to the total.

I would say that paying for something ahead of time with someone you hadn't dealt with before and not seeing anything yet, would be a red flag. ;)

If it a trusted group, or person then it is understandable. But when someone you know is trying to circumvent one system, then I would question their integrity.

IF and I mean IF you posted this as a paid request, in the actual paid request forum then you can provide short and simple feedback in the same paid request thread. This cannot be discussed in the open forum if using their name etc. Its ok to discuss it, as it stands now in this current thread as no names were given and you simply asked for community advice on the subject .

Have an American Express Card? If they still do this (last time I heard they did) use it to pay via PayPal - if they cheat you then file a complaint with both PayPal and American Express, AE will issue a refund despite whether PayPal does or not *typically as they side with their customers. Also never give as a gift via PayPal... if they do forum work then they should be paying the fees, that to me is a red flag as well because if you're not claiming all that you make then you're ripping off the government on your tax return and the government can throw you in a cell and the key along with it so sure they'll cheat you in a heartbeat what are you going to do throw Ice Cream at them if they don't deliver the product? Lovely! <-- That's the only solid advice I can give you aside from checking references and if it sounds too good to be true, it is!
