Hi

I need to create are rewrite rule for my .htaccess file:

/f32/mechatronics-unit-54920-post507008.html

rewrite to:

/showthread.php?t=54920

does anyone know how to do this ?

Just disable url rewrite .. And look up for url structure ..

if I'm not mistaken. The URL 'rewrite' you mentioned:

Is the default of vBulletin. By disabling the URL rewrite:

/admincp/options.php?do=options&dogroup=friendlyurl

You should change it to Standard URLs

However.. the URL rewrite you mentioned in the first line is not familiar to me.. are you using some kind of SEO plugin? vBSEO or DB SEO?
