Persistent spammer advice
Our site currently uses V 3.8.7.
We have an issue with persistent spam for "My WIFI router". Adding "WIFI" as a censored word fixes the problem but as we are a technology website this also affects innocent posters and as soon as we remove it of course, back comes the spam. Is there a better way we can combat this please? (without putting new posts into moderation which is not acceptable to the admins). |

Some links in the post are in graveyard but you can find them at the same site as the link is |

What we need, if it exists, is the ability to have more control over censored words to include phrases. As per my my previous post, if we include "WIFI", then a whole stack of innocent members will see their posts blocked. If though it were possible to have the whole phrase of "My WIFI router" as a block, without this affecting posts containing the single word "wifi", then nothing else would be affected apart from the spam. :) |
I haven't tried it myself, but there's this mod: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=232780 . It does put matching posts into moderation (from your comment above I'm not sure if that's acceptable), but it says it can be triggered by phrase.
