Any way to turn "sub-forums" into "forums"?

I have a few sub-forums and I think it'd be best if they were turned into forums instead.
Tried messing around the forum manager in admincp but couldn't get this done.

How do I go about doing this?

Create a new forum and then merge the posts into it and then delete the sub.
