forum home page to show latest thread feed

Hi All

I am newbie, so bear with me please . have few queries :

1 - I need to display the latest threads on my home page instead of showing the forum default page. I have look into the VB 4.2.2 options, and I can add latest posts and not latest threads through the navigation manager.

2 - how to change the time frame to consider a post as LATEST ? i think it is currently set on 24 hours. any option to change this time frame ?

Thanks in advance

Do you want to display the most recently started new threads? New Posts shows the threads with the most recent posts.

Settings > Options > General Settings > Database Read Marking Limit sets how long a post is considered unread if the user hasn't read it. Put another way, New Posts shows unread posts to the user if its post time is less than the setting's value before now. So set it at 10 days for example, and and it won't show in New Posts 11 days later.

Hi

point 1 is sorted , thanks .

point 2 , it is marked as 10 days. and each time I click on new Post link on the quick menu, it just show posts in the past 24 hours.

any ideas ?

To get all the unread posts in the last 10 days set Thread/Forum Read Marking Type to Database (automatic forum marking). I have posts for the 18th showing there. If it's set to Inactivity/Cookie Based I think it shows only for as long as the user's session.

There's a link for Today's Posts that shows posts in the last 24 hours. Frankly it's been so long since I've played with the navigation manager I don't remember what its default settings were. Maybe someone else can clarify this.
