vb5 to vb4 downgrade
Hi,
Once vbulletin 5 has so many issues not rezolved, i'm concidering to downgrade to vb4. Can i do that with the actual licence? Do you know vb4 is more stable? Thank you! |
Yes vB4 is more stable, and much better IMO, but it is something that is not easily done. I have seen people charging in the range of $500 to do it.
|
I have opened the forum 2 weeks ago, so the movement doesn't have to be hard... But the vb licence that i just bought is available for vb4 to?
|
It don't matter if you have two members and 12 threads, or 2000 members and 100,000 threads, the work to convert it from vB5 to vB4 is the same.
The databases are completely different. Yes if you purchased a vB5 license, you can run vB5, vB4 or vB3, but only one site per license. |
It would probably be smarter just to start over on vb4 if the forum is brand new ;)
Stay away from vb5 |

If you want to add modifications to a site, then vB4 is probably the software you want to run as there are many more modifications available for it than vB5.
|
It would be possible to import Vb5 to Invision forum script(IPB) and then Impex from that to Vb4 though you would have to buy Invision(IPB).
|
Seems like to much work for a site that is two weeks old.
