Remove Visitor Messages from ACtivity Stream

How can one remove VMs from the Activity Stream in the NAVBAR? It would seem there should be an option on VB5 to select what you want to show there, but there is not an option. Why should everyone see the VMs (maybe left privately) for others.
How can Visitor Messages be removed from the Activity Stream?

Those should only be displaying to YOU as a Mod/ Site Admin. Have you looked as an unregistered user or regular member to see if those items are available?

You may be able to just add this to the end of the json search line:
&exclude_type=vBForum_VisitorMessage

Not true. Any registered user can see. That is the problem. Someone leaves what they think is a semi private message on a members VM board, and it is there in the Activity Stream for all to see. You may think "well then leave a PM!" but users don't always think.

I tried Lynn. I posted the entire string in the programming section HERE. Not sure where to post it, sorry if it is in wrong place or duplicated. Bold is what I added to string.
