User can't see forum

I've set up a section and wanted a user to see this section and only this section.

I've gone through the permissions, but whenever i log in with the user ID i don't see anything.

Any suggestions? I'm attaching a screenshot of the permissions for the user.

What am i missing?

Go to:

AdminCP -> Forums & Moderators -> Forum Manager

and then take a look at the subforum you have set up for this user and make sure that in the "Posting Options" section you have:
  • Forum is Active
  • Forum is Open

Both set to "Yes."

I already had that set like that.

Is this user in a special usergroup, or are their more members in the same usergroup?

Do you want a section where users can see only their own threads and no one else's and the only thing they see is the one section?

The usergroup is one i set up so that i could limit who saw a specific section of the forum. Their usergroup is the primary group for the user, and they have no access to other sections. There are several sections on the board, but this person should only be able to see 1 section.

There are currently 2 people set to this usergroup, excluding the admin. I've set permissions so that they cannot see each others posts. All they can see is theirs.

Correct.

I'm basically hiring 2 people to post content, and i decided to have a section so that they can post there and if its good i will move it. The section will also serve for them to post their questions to me.

I wanted it set up so the 2 people only see their own posts, and not each others.

I'm thinking this has something to do with the usergroups permission. I took a test account that had "registered user" access. When i added the group to their account, i could see the section. But when i put the private group as the primary usergroup, and the "registered user" as a secondary group i couldn't see any sections at all.

I'm attaching a screenshot of some of the permissions to the usergroup.

Any suggestions?

Yeah you are gonna definitely have to have a new usergroup for them if you have not already set that up. You would have to set the primary to the new usergroup you made and have NO secondary usergroup for them since that forum area i the only one they need to see. Just pick the primary in the drop on each account and do not tick anything else, untick anything that is ticked.

Thats exactly what i had already done. When i log in with their details, there are no visible sections of the forum.

Are you getting any kind of error message or any vBulletin message at all? Can you post a screen shot of it?
