i am getting a warning and when i reply to a thread it and the editor is screwed up.

On my site, i get this warning when i click go advanced while replying to a thread:
Code:

Warning: Only variables should be passed by reference in ..../newreply.php on line 389
The editor is also screwed up. It all started, when i tried to embed flappy bird in a thread. Then the warning started. I physically removed the thread, but the warning is still there, and the editor is still screwed up.

Here you go :

Make sure you read through all this to find out what you just did ...

Yeah that is also solved in v4.2.3

CarpCharacin 01-05-2015 10:45 PM

the text is overlapping in the editor in the off topic section only.

UPDATE: it was only the off topic section. I created an off topic 2 section and moved all the threads there, and then deleted the off topic section and renamed off topic 2 to off topic. I think i messed up the off topic section by trying to embed flappy bird. I will find a better version of flappy bird to embed.

Well glad to hear you were able to resolve the issue. :)

How are you trying to embed flappy bird into a thread exactly? Maybe there is a better way to do it and not kill your site lol. What exactly do you need it to do?

I have an arcade section on my site. I actually just tried this again and it re killed the off topic section and i had to move out the threads again. The arcade section does not have flappy bird. This is what i did, i turned on html in the section and then i got the flappy bird embed code off of some website. Then i made a sticky thread and pasted in the code. The game worked, but i got the warning and the editor was screwed up.

Then there must be something in the code screwing up the page. This is why it is never a good idea to post HTML in a post, or allow it at all.

yeah i tried to put html in my user title and it screwed up stuff also. When i removed the html, it fixed itself. This is the flappy bird code i used:
HTML Code:

<iframe src="http://www.gameflare.com/embed/flappy-bird-flash/" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" width="500" height="730"></iframe>

Its probably the fact that it is an iFrame. iFrames can screw up stuff at times on vBulletin. You may be better off adding it to a template somewhere on the site. You could even create a page for it within vBulletin.

Also something you need to keep in mind that the code as stated before maybe bad or there maybe something on that site you are calling that has bad coding that may have caused this issue. There may be no way to embed it into the site in this manner.
