vbulletin database using for another system

i want create a news portal for my website

news portal with users, posts , category and tags

Is good choice , If i use vbulletin database tables ,for this portal?

(for security and optimize and other options)

Please be aware that vBA is no longer under active development and no longer supported.

True. :) The only reason I posted it was I do not know of any other portal solution out there.

Yeah it is unsupported, but that don't mean you can't use it. It is a tride and true mod, and so far seems to have no serious issues.

Now that don't mean at some point it will become unusable, but that goes for any mod. :)

That's right. Especially since we won't see much development on the vB4 front anymore.

Yeah kinda sad that they have dropped yet another popular vB version to go with something that seems to be gaining popularity at a dead snails pace. :p
