vbulletin and internet explorer

I am currently a member of a forum using version 4.2.2 of the vbulletin software. I am thinking of creating a forum for my business and buying a license. I see that the minimum recommended version of vbulletin is 5.1.5 at this time. The forum I'm a member of that is running version 4.2.2 is currently having issues getting the forum to render in Internet Explorer and has a lot of disgruntled users. Most of my clients are IE users (I have stats from my business website). I do not want to purchase a license for vbulletin if it will not work for my clients.

My question is this. Does version 5.1.5 resolve compatibility issues with IE? Were their known bugs with IE that are now fixed with this release? Let me know.
Regards,
MyCorona

4.2.2 works perfectly fine in IE, if the site you are a member of is having issues, then it is most likely a issue with a modification.

All versions up to IE11? Thanks for the speedy reply.

Yes, if there was a serious issue, tens of thousands of users would be reporting the issue, and i don't recall anyone reporting anything.

The only issue I am aware of between vB and IE 11 and up involves identification of the user agent internally. It does not affect rendering.

IE? In what world are people still attempting to use that browser? It's about time you tell them your site doesn't support IE and be done with it!

Microsoft Edge perhaps, IE... no.

I also don't see anything vBulletin-related to that URL so it's been removed for now and replaced.
