Link Import

I'm not sure what text to use to search for this, so am asking for advice. I'm sure it exists, just dont know what it would be called as a plugin.

On Facebook when you share a link, it imports the image and several lines of text as a preview on your wall. Is there a plugin that can do this for a link shared in vBulletin?

Thank you for any help and advice on this, I appreciate it :)

Robert

As far as I know there is no mod for this for vBulletin. I thought I had seen one but I've been working a lot lately on vB & phpBB so it must have been for phpBB that I saw it for. This is something that you might want to request if you really need it for your forum in the Free Mod Request area or if you do not mind paying for it try requesting it HERE.

This mod might do what you need, [DBTech] Forum Live Feed & User Wall v1 [AJAX] (vB4)

Thanks for the replies. That plugin doesnt seem to do what I am looking for. It seems strange that a plugin that does this hasnt been created yet, so I want to be sure one doesnt already exist before requesting it. I have attached an image showing what I am looking to do.

I'm not sure how this would be done on a "forum" though unless some sort of script section where you paste the url and then click "import"... in which case it would pull into the post the same image Facebook would (first image or og:image), article title, and the first 1 or 2 lines of text, and then link to the article.

I really hope something like this already exists :)

Yeah I understood what you were talking about and I searched the site, there is no mod like that on this site. You would have to get someone to code it for you or try maybe Googling it.
