How to force users to see a thread I want when they login?

I have seen this feature in some forums where when I login I see a message "admins want you to see this thread" and until I see that thread, I cannot do anything on the forum. So first I have to see that thread and then I can move on to do other things on those forums.

How can I have this feature on my forum?

Its pretty useful when you want to FORCE all your users to see a thread you want before letting them surf or use the forum.

That would be this mod, https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=241754

This site has this very feature. Lately I have been forced to read,

"The site is not available. Please try later."

before doing anything else!

Do you think I would tell you to use it if it was not working? :p

Oh thanks. I thought you might not know that I'm using 4.2.2. :P

I see that it has option to force guests to read a thread which means that non-logged in visitors will also be forced to read a thread before they can do anything else. So I was wondering if you know enabling this feature would have any negative effects on forum's Google SEO? As this might not let Google bots to visit the pages it wants to index them, rank them etc. Any idea about this?

It might, I would not suggest using that feature.

And word to the wise, this is one of the most annoying hacks you could ever install.

There's also "Welcome Thread Redirect by BOP5" which sends the newly registered user to the thread you designate, right after they successfully register.
