Forum URL redirecting to installation page

The site was working absolutely fine about an hour ago. I don't know what happened. I am trying to access it now and it is redirecting to the installation page and trying to install vBulletin. When I go to the URL, it redirects to domain.com/install/install.php

I checked the config file. Everything is fine there. According to my host, everything is fine at the database too. He ran scan on tables and said everything is fine. He says he cannot fix the issue as it is a development side issue.

What to do now?

As a last resort, I provided him with a MySQL database backup of a few days ago to restore.

Did you delete the install directory after doing your upgrade/update? Sounds like its still there, delete the install directory and that may solve your issue.

Did not do upgrade/update in a long time. And there isn't a install directory there. The issue isn't with the files either. I reuploaded all vB files from a recent backup and the issue persists. The URL redirects to install directory and I see a 404 error.

I think something is wrong with the database.

check htaccess file or try uploading all files same version as you have and do a upgrade but disable plugin via config first

According to the code, if it cannot load the datastore from the database then it will try to redirect to the install script. If you have phpMyAdmin, maybe check to see if you have a datastore table and see if it has anything in it.
