/usr/local/lib directory ?

Hi i apoligize for starting a new thread as im sure this has been covered but i can't seem to find the answer.
I am trying to edit the php.ini file to allow larger uploads.
php info says its in directory /usr/local/lib , the problem is i can't find that directory, i don't seem to have a /usr folder.

I assume you have your own VPS? This will not work on shared hosting.

yes i have VPS

I would suggest asking your host about this. You may need to login via ftp as another user in order to view that directory. (Don't forget to restart apache after making any changes to the php.ini file.)

Well can someone tell me where its suppose to be at least? I assume /usr/local/lib means it's in the root directory and i just can't see it?

Dave 11-23-2014 06:44 PM

We don't know what you see, so it's hard for us to help you.

Xplosive60 11-23-2014 06:49 PM

What i see is not the problem, it's what i can't see, and thats the usr directory.
I have submitted a ticket to my vps server but i know they will reply with Vbulletin is not their issue.

Include screenshots?
Are you logging into the FTP as a root user?
Can you see in what directory you're currently in?

There is no place is it supposed to be. It can be almost anywhere. It can also be in many locations. For instance, your host may tell you the server is set up to allow you to add your own php.ini file to a certain directory.

Thank you i am working with them, this is their reply....
The file is there, and the directory is there. Here:

[root@www /]# cd /usr/local/lib/
[root@www lib]# pwd
/usr/local/lib
[root@www lib]# ls | grep php.ini
aphp.ini

Was great of them but not sure how to find file from that.
