Admin filtered word mod - is it doable?

We use the word filter on our forum (v. 4.2.1). And when a member creates a post with one of the words that is on the word filter list, the letters are displayed with a *, which makes it impossible for us mods to clearly see what the actual filtered word is. It would be great for us mods to be able to see the word as it was originally posted, instead of the ****. That way, we wouldn't have to guess what the word was or the intent of the poster (re: insults).

Has anyone tried making a mod that can do this?

Is it doable?

The creation of this mod was discussed earlier this year, but I do not think the conversation yielded a working modification. I will see if I can find you thread.

I believe this will take care of posting of censored words, https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=255546

Sounds like a good candidate for the paid section.

I may not be following how that mod works correctly, Ozzz. If a users posts a filtered word, how will a mod be able to see the original? It doesn't look like it can do that.

No, it don't even allow them to post the word, that is the beauty of the mod, no reason to show **** for bad words if they are not allowed. :)

Good point, sir. Thank you. I will talk this over with the other mods and see what they say.
