Found a VB5 to Wordpress Comment plugin

Just thought I'd post this since I tripped over it a couple of weeks ago and have had a lot of success. I'm NOT related to the author/project/software in any way - just a user.

http://codecanyon.net/item/vbulletin-connector/4126499

This software allows you to "replace" the comment system in Wordpress by associating a Wordpress post with a vBulletin thread. When you make a new Wordpress post, it will automatically create a new thread in a selected forum (you can select it when you create the new post, or use a default). Then, when people reply to the vBulletin thread they will show up as comments, with names and avatars, on the Wordpress side. Clicking on "Add a comment" on the Wordpress side will bring you to the vBulletin thread.

The software had some issues when I first bought it (for $15). The author was VERY responsive, and over the next 2-3 days we fixed all the bugs.

It works with vBulletin 3.x-5.x. I'm using it with 5.1.3 and it works very well.

Just thought I'd plug the author since there aren't too many people out there building software for vb5, and also because he was so responsive - especially to someone who paid only $15.

By the way - if you buy it, e-mail the author and ask him for the beta version with the vb5 changes. He hasn't posted that on the site yet.

I can be duplicated content between wordpress post and vbulletin thread?

DisasterDotCom 10-31-2014 03:09 PM

The content of the wordpress post and the content of the vbulletin thread can be duplicated (by default it shows an excerpt in the vbulletin thread). I actually modify the vbulletin thread after it is created, but this software will create the link. Take a look at http://www.disaster.com/infographic-...-winter-storm/

All of the comments at the bottom of that post are pulled in from a vb5 thread that was automatically created by the software. I then modified the thread a little to look nicer, but I love that it pulls the comments in, and then pushes you to vbulletin to make new comments.
