Concurrent http/https operation

I am trying to get my vb4 install to run in both http and https at the same time (from separate urls, off course).

Its clear that vb4 does not support this type of install. The code requires the url to be either http or https. It cannot be protocol agnostic.

Has anyone done the work to get a http/https install working? Is it worth my time to try to fix this?
