Issue after upgrade...

I upgraded from 4. something to 4.2.2

Previous to the upgrade, if you went to www.ransclan.com/forums you could get to the main page of the forums.

After the upgrade, one has to go to http://www.ransclan.com/forums/forum.php to get to the forums.

Is there a setting, or a way to get the main forums back to just www.ransclan.com/forums

Thanks,

Mark

You would use the Navigation Manager to set the Default Tab - admincp > Settings > Navigation Manager > find tab you want to be default > Set Default.

Thank you Lynne, but this didn't really fix the problem (or maybe I didn't explain it properly!):D

If I just open a web browser and type in www.ransclan.com/forums, it used to open up the forums to the main forums page.

But when I type that same address into the browser now, it takes me to the "What's New" page.

I do have the tabs arranged so that the "Forums" tab is first...

Basically, I want the forums to open to the "Forums" tab.

Thanks.

In the "Navigational Manager", on your tab, the select-box marked "Edit" (at the end of the line), you have to select "Default" as @Lynne explained. Reordering the tabs, has nothing to do with the "default tab". :)

It is a tad hidden. :)

Let's explain this a different way. :)

To switch the default page.

1) Go to your Admin CP

2) On the side menu expand "Settings" and click on "Navigation Manager"

3) The Navigation Manager will look like this, though you probably have less tabs then I do. You will see "What's New" is listed as "Default."

4) To change the default find the drop down menu on the line of the tab you want to be default. In this example we will make "Forum" the new default. Choose "Set Default."

5) If necessary click "Go" after selecting Set Default- This will bring you to the final page-

6) Confirm your choice by clicking on "Save."

You will then be returned to the Navigation Manager and "Forum" will be the new default tab. So if anyone goes to www.yoursite.com or www.yoursite.com/index.php they will see the "Forum" page.

AH!! Got it!

I guess Lynne did say that-I didn't read it correctly. Thank you all very much!!

Glad to hear it is sorted now. :)
