Is it possible to have something in forum listings so that the user can click on it and it takes them to their last post in that thread? So they can carry on reading from where they last posted?

How is that needed if you have functionality that takes you to the first unread post?

That doesn't seem to be on every forum for some reason.

It's on those forums the software has read information for the current user. That information is kept for a certain time that can be set in AdminCP (two weeks default, I guess).
