Moving forum from root to /forum directory
 

Hey everyone, I'm considering installing WP and I'd want this to be in my public-html root directory. As a result I'd need to move my forums into a /forum folder.

Is it as simple as moving the contents into the folder and changing vb settings? or would I have to do some more work?

That's all you should have to do my Man, just make sure your Forum Url under "Site Name / URL / Contact Details" is set to the new folder ... so it would be something like www.yoursite.com/forums if you named the folder "forums" ....

For vB4, its as simple as that.

Note however, that links people have posted will no longer work., nor will [old] links from search engines.

That's awesome, will make it much easier if we decide to make the changes
