Have a Weird Issue With Slave Server

This issue started today. When I have my forum's slave server hooked in, the entire forum slows down to the speed of a snail and the number of guests skyrockets - nearly 9K in no time. It's as if the slave is not closing out the sessions of the guests.

Once I take away the slave, the number of guests begins to come down quickly and the forum starts to increase in speed.

The slave was getting some locked tables today (never had that before) and that caused the slave to fall behind the master (thus making the info look behind on the forum itself).

Any ideas on the issue?

I would suggest you post in the Server Configuration forum on vbulletin.com and get George's input on your problem.

Lynee, could it be an attack? Have your heard of attacks where your guest number in the forum increases until the forum significantly slows down?

I have not heard of such an attack, but I'm no server expert. George really knows his servers and will be the best person to help you out.

Check your server logs and post them..also check security log.
