QUICK question!

Hey there. I need help with a navigation item.. I'm just looking to add an "Inbox" portion to my navbar, but I want, when a new message is received, for the word "NEW" in red to come directly before the word inbox, showing they have a new message. Also maybe (1/2/3/4) in red AFTER inbox, to show how many they've received/left unread. That part is unnecessary, but it would be nice :).
