Is their something a mod or plugin in the cp that I can check to help with spam?

or any other suggestions?

Ask Ozzy and Max Taxable. They have a thread which when followed step by step. You'll not see any more spam.

Since i did the steps, i've not had a single bot of spam to deal with :)
