Upgrade Issues
 

I upgraded from 3.8.7 to 4.2.2 and of course my custom skin was incompatible. I went to styles and template and deleted the skin and downloaded new ones. I installed them but they have errors. things not showing. overlapping stuff. Features i had with my old skin still appear on the default skin and new ones I just uploaded. How can I fix this? im going crazy and started to regret upgrading.
please help!!

When you added a new style did you add it as a new style or a child style? If you add it as new it should not show any effects from the old style. And did you upload images, etc for the new theme?

Yes sir, I added as new and uploaded everything that came with the new sin downloaded. But still showing things I had on the old skins, and the errors I mentioned.

Try re-uploading the images and make sure you use auto. Images wont work if uploaded in binary transfer mode.

Also check your permissions, 644 should work and double check image paths.

I just checked and the images are showing up as broken paths.

Did so, went as far as setting the whole /image folder to 777 and the issue is still there :/

Did you also upload the new files before installing the new xml style?
