Word Filter Private Mails / block, unblock Mails
 

Hello,

we have the problem in our forum, that there are many users who send spam to other users. I know, that there is a word filter for the global forum, that also works for private mails.

But is there any mod, for only private mails, to have the possibilty to filter some words out of Private Mails, or / and to filter als eMails or links in private mails, maybe with a regular expression?

One step further will be, that I want to have the function, that there is a filter of words, and when one Private Mail contains one of the word in the filter-list, then it will be blocked, admins get an eMail and can check and change the private mail before it can then be unblocked and sended normally.

Does anyone know, if there are some plugins / mods who can help me to do this?

I am still searching for a solution or for a plugin that will filter eMail-addresses out of the PM's. Does anyone know, how to do that?

On the forum I help administrate, we use:

VSa - Advanced Permissions Based on Post Count

to prevent users with less than 5 posts to send a PM to anyone except the senior staff. This has been 100% effective <knocks wood> in thwarting users whose sole purpose for joining was to abuse the PM system to spam our members.

But I do not want to prevent users to send PM's - I just want to prevent, that they are able to send eMail-addresses in the PM's. A filter should just filter out the email addresses, that should be the best way.

That would require some custom coding. :)

email-adress@xyzxyz.com, but also email-adress(AT)xyzxyz.com and so on... should get to something like this: [email removed].

There is no such add-on that I know of, but then I haven't searched this site for one.

If you do such a search and come up empty, then I recommend posting a modification request. Right now I have too many things going on to take on a new project, but when I get out from under my list and you still need help, I will certainly keep it in mind. :)
