Thread tags
 

I'm not sure if i am using the right terminology, but i am basically looking at something that allows users to tag their posts based on the topic to make searching easier.

Are there any mods like that out there like that and what would be the correct term for this?

I'm attaching something similar that i have seen on another forum.

Also, i have different sections to my forum and would want one set of tags for one section, and a different set of tags for the others. I don't know if thats possible or if its out there but worst case scenario i would want the option to not have that show up on certain sections.

There are a couple of automatic taggers out there that use the vBulletin tagging system. Most of the taggers automatically append the forum title as a tag. A quick Google search on vbulletin.org should yield you some results. :)

So is thread tag the right terminology for what i am looking for?

I am aware of that but I could only find the plugin for vb3

Here is one that will work on vb4, very simple modification, easy to modify to your own needs. Very few features, but gets the job done. It will not go back through your database and add tags to your old posts. I looked at it years ago so it might have to be upgraded for v4.2.2.

I was looking more for something like in the picture i posted.

Re-looking at your picture, I think you might be looking at post icons, not thread tags.
