New vbulletin 5.0.5 install and forum display issue

I performed a complete new install of vbulletin 5.0.5 on my GoDaddy server. This is my first time installing vbulletin from scratch, so I'm learning as I go with this install.

The GoDaddy server is using deluxe hosting with cPanel, using PHP version 5.4.24, MySQL version 5.5.34-cll-lve.

I have my main site page up even though it's not finished yet.

When I click on my message board link on my main page, or just go directly to www.3wheeleraction.com/forum/ the page doesn't display the forum correctly.

I haven't installed cURL yet, do I need to?

Thanks for all and any help I can get since this is my first vbulletin install.

Since your files are in the /forum directory, you will need to change this line in your .htaccess file:

#RewriteBase /

to this line:

RewriteBase /forum/

Is there only supposed to be (1) .htaccess file and where should it be located? Just under the forum directory itself?

Thanks Lynne!

Yes, there should be a single .htaccess file located in the same directory where you uploaded all the vB files. It is a vBulletin supplied .htaccess file, so if your host also had you put one there, then you will need to copy the contents from one file to the other because there can only be one .htaccess file.

Lynne,

I removed the .htaccess file from my home directory and did as you said on the .htaccess file within my forum directory.

The forum displays correctly now. Thank you very much for your help!

I will most likely be removing vb5 from my server and installing vb 4.2.2 since it is more familiar to me.

Thanks again,

Doug
