What's happening with vBulletin 3.8.8?

It's been in Beta for like a year! what's going on? why isn't it being release?

That info is here on the site, somewhere.
If you have access to download it in vb.com members area, you can use it.
From what we were all told a while back, 3.8.8 will never come out of beta, but is fine to use.

Is there a reason you need it out of beta?

Is this true? I've checked in Members Area and currently it's Beta 4.

Need PHP 5.4 compatibility and since I'm going to invest a bit of $ for design and optimization, I really want a fully supported stable release as a basis.

Offcourse, I don't want to use a Beta product on a live forum. I would feel better if it was final.

If vbulletin released a new version then the product would not be end-of-life and they would have to continue support on an aging product, albeit a great product. Personally, I like the way they handled v3.8.8 as a beta -- this way almost everyone is happy. Just my opinion. :)

It will likely come out of beta at some point. and 3.8.8 is supported just the same as 3.8.7. It literally only has security and php 5.4 fixes in it.

Thanks Zachery for making that clear. :)
