Showing Past/All CMS News Posts

Currently, I have it so that the frontpage of my CMS shows 3 recent posts. I also have a drop down on the subnav to sort by category. However, I see no way to put in something to allow users to visit past posts (beyond the latest 3) or a complete archive of posts. Is there a mod available or a configuration that I'm missing in the AdminCP?

Edit the section, make sure Pagination Links is set to Yes and then the users will be able to page back to view older articles.

Thanks Lynne for the reply. I don't know how I missed that one for so long. In any case, what code should I use if I want to have have links instead of pagination. For example, using "Older Posts" and "Newer Posts" instead of pages.

I *think* the pagenav_window template is only used in the CMS. So, you could probably get away with just editing it directly. If that doesn't work, then you would need a new template and a plugin to render the template and replace the pagenav_window templates on the pages you wanted to do so on.

It's not some simple "just change this line here" answer.

Thanks for the info Lynne. It's really helpful.

I'm running into an issue and I've been able to reproduce it now several times. When updating my section to use pagination links, my site ignores the section's setting for STYLE. I have it set on Inherit (from user) but, once you've turned on pagination, it uses only the board default, even if you turn off pagination.

I'm using 4.1.10 mainly because the theme I use turns into an absolute mess when upgrading and I've put in far too much time getting the styling correct to go and upgrade atm. Like I said, I'm able to reproduce this issue at any point (from a database rollback of course) where turning on section pagination causes vB to ignore section selection for STYLE. Thoughts or is this simply going in the "old version" column?

Thanks for the help as always!

I cannot reproduce that error on my 4.2.2 site. I can only assume it was an old bug that has since been fixed.
