When you subscribe to a thread, your only options are to recieve email notifications or to not recieve them.

I need a way to have a in-forum notification seperate from your email choice on subscribed threads.

Ideally i would want a function seperate from threat subs, like users always get notifications about new posts in threads they posted or replied in, unless they click a "stop notifications" button on the original post.

Any ideas on how to do this?

I would settle for adding a "private message notification" option to the subscription notification options.

I understand the last sentence, but I'm a little confused about how your suggestion differs from thread subs. You're saying you want something separate from thread subs, but what you describe sounds exactly like thread subscriptions. I'm probably missing something.

As I read the OP, he's looking for in-forum notifications of new messages in subscribed threads (tied into the existing notifications mechanism) instead of only e-mail notifications.

yes, currently the ONLY option is to notify via email, i want that option to remain in place (maybe), but i want a in-forum notification, like the notification on private messages. or a notification via private message would be ok.

found this mod, works for what i want. just set registration option to auto-sub to threads with no email notification.

but there are problems...
