Approving New Users

My forum is setup so I have to approve new users. When I have someone register I'm sent an email automatically stating they have registered. It simply contains a link to their profile.

What I'm NOT seeing is an easy way to approve this request. I know I can log into the Admin-CP and go to search users>>User Groups>>Users awaiting moderation. Then I just change the group they belong to in their profile options.

It seems a bit tedious. Is there a way to do this easier? Also, when they are approved I don't think they're being sent an email stating this. Is that correct? Seems like it would be helpful if they were sent an email once they are approved. That way they know they can start posting. :D

Why change their group? Just click except. They will go into your site as registered members.

Where is this "accept" button? I don't see it.

There is a way to set it up that it auto does it if u want help doing this I can do it for a small fee

Thank you for the offer. However, I do not want this to be an automated process. I would like to approve each member manually so I can review each registrant is fit for the community.

That is the only way to do it manually. But you are going about it the long way.

When you log into the ACP go to the index page, YOUR.com/admincp/index.php and you will see a block titled, Welcome to the vBulletin Admin Control Panel now in that block you will see on the right side, Users to Moderate, click on View next to that, there you can approve the members.

They should get a PM that their account has been approved after doing that.

^AWESOME! Thanks so much Ozzy! That was EXACTLY what I was hoping to find. Even gives me an option to send them an email.

Is there a way to customize the email that is sent?

Edit the phrase, off the top of my head I don't know which one it is.

italynstylion 02-04-2014 03:43 AM

I was able to find it. The phrase is moderation_validated. Thanks again for the help! :D
