instead of a 1 line field, I want it to be more of a box shape where they can hit return and be taken to the next line. Is this possible and/or is there a hack for it? I would like to give my users the ability to have their system specs in their profile. Is this possible?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Not currently possible (without hacking).

If you don't want to hack, then I suggest you use different fields, i.e one for OS, one for Browser (or whatever you want them to put), etc.

Would it take considerable amount of hacking or would it be a fairly simple hack?

Fairly simple actually. :)

(moving to requests)

what kind of hacking is involved?

Run a query (to add the field to user table), edit templates (to add the field to the profile page), hack member.php (so it will update the field on submit).
